Lately I wake up in the morning and don't know where I am. It takes me a while to get my bearings. This was also the case this morning in Tromsø. I'm in Tromso! Crazy.

The accommodation is a typical guest house for this trip with rooms in which people sleep and shared rooms such as toilets, showers, kitchen and lounge. This time access to the house and the rooms is coded with a combination lock. Everyone makes their own breakfast, dishes are available. This way you can quickly get into conversation with the other roommates and find out new things and tips for the journey.

Today I was sitting in the kitchen with an 86 year old woman. She was able to explain a lot about the history of Norway and then moved on to attend a lecture at the University of Tromsø. With a lot of new knowledge to digest, I climbed onto Hildegard, took wrong paths through the city, which was heavily under construction, looked at the Arctic-Alpine Botanical Garden and then finally continued my journey towards the northeast on the right track.

Twice we came to fjords that could only be crossed by ferry; One crossing took place in heavy seas, so I was recommended to stay with the motorbike.

The Aurora Spirit distillery in the Lyngseidet area was recommended to me for a visit by one of its partners during the second ferry trip; Unfortunately it's not open on Friday and I'm traveling further... So that's something for later too. The area around the distillery is fantastic, you can see it when the clouds clear up a bit. That worked for a moment and I was shown an almost alpine panorama on Lyngseidet.

The final stop for today is on Kvænangsfjellet, in the currently thick fog.

It becomes noticeably fresher. The day started at around 10 to 12° Celsius and the clouds are now so low here that I have to drive through. The rain jacket keeps out moisture and wind. Tomorrow, however, I will also button up the thermal lining.
