Looking back on our 3 days in Bangkok, we would like to briefly share with you :)
On Monday, October 3rd, we arrived in Bangkok at half past 2 in the afternoon. After a little baggage disagreement during check-in, regarding the weight of our suitcases, we were able to come to an agreement and received our 'stand by' boarding pass. 1 hour before departure, we were fortunately assigned a seat (unfortunately not next to each other) and we were able to quickly book a hotel in Bangkok. A friendly Thai person changed seats for us, so nothing stood in the way of the departure.
To enhance our beauty sleep in economy class, the crew delighted us with a glass of champagne. After that, the 10 hours flew by and we were spared the choice between chicken and pasta.
When we arrived in Bangkok, the crew kindly took us into the city and saved us the long way with the Skytrain. On the first evening, we explored the area around our hotel, where unfortunately the famous 'Patpong Night Market' was located and we lost some baths.
On day 2, we were awoken at 7:30 local time by an alleged wake-up call. A somewhat pushy hotel tour guide wanted to make the deal of his life with us that day and didn't let go quickly. After this good start to the day, we decided to explore the city on our own. The program included the Grand Palace (which was really 'grand'), the Temple of Emerald Buddha, the Standing Buddha, and the Wat Arun Temple.
We spent the second evening in the famous bar from the movie 'Hangover' at the Lebua State Tower. The HANGOVER the next day was pre-programmed ;)
So the sightseeing program for the last day fell through. We fought our way through the humid Bangkok (this time by Skytrain) to the airport, which we reached sweaty but on time.
Without any problems, our seats for the flight to Koh Samui were secured and we quickly booked accommodation for the next 4 nights.
Update from Koh Samui will follow shortly ;)
We send you sunny greetings,
Your Teresa & Vanessa :)
