Departure and Arrival in Cape Town

प्रकाशित: 27.08.2018

So the time had finally come. On Saturday at 5 p.m. we set off for Cape Town. After saying goodbye to my family, friends, and girlfriend at the airport, we headed towards Frankfurt. After a short layover, we would continue with Condor towards Windhoek. Unfortunately, the departure was delayed a bit because the gate was changed shortly before takeoff. After a small migration, we were finally on our way. Goodbye Germany -> Hello Africa!

After a night with very little sleep, I finally reached the capital of Namibia. Due to the delayed departure in Frankfurt, my layover time for my onward flight to Cape Town was reduced to 20 minutes. There was a slight chaos at the transfer counter. Initially, we were told that I and other passengers booked for Cape Town would be rebooked on another flight in the afternoon. Needless to say, we were not thrilled...

But things turned out differently for me. Suddenly, a woman appeared and called my name. She asked me to come with her and handed me my ticket for the flight. As the last passenger, I ran completely across the tarmac to the departing plane to Cape Town. As soon as I took my seat, we were already on our way. 2 hours later, I finally landed in Cape Town :)

But soon after my arrival, the disillusionment set in. My backpack didn't make it to Cape Town. After completing all the paperwork, I went to my hostel first. The airport employee said that I would probably receive my luggage on the same day.

At first, I was really worried whether I would actually get my backpack on the same day. Just to be safe, I bought some new things like a toothbrush in the afternoon.

But in the evening, my phone actually rang and an hour later I finally had my backpack :)

Now the journey can really begin :-)
