Tour of the Camargue

We approached the tour through the Camargue with mixed feelings. After all, I had booked this tour online, with the note to start from la Grande Motte.

Then the confirmation came and behold, the starting point was in la Grau de Roi. We could only reach the voicemail of the tour operator on the phone, and my email was left unanswered. Eventually, after asking for assistance at the tourist office, the tour operator called us and agreed to meet at the tourist office in la Grande Motte at 8:15.

The SPAR supermarket across the street opens at 8:00, so we were able to buy a baguette for the journey. At 8:25, no one was there, so I called on the phone. Again, only the voicemail, but a callback came 5 minutes later. That's when the misunderstanding was resolved, as there is a 35-minute difference between 'eight fifty' and 'fifteen'.

We then boarded the tour and picked up 4 more people at the official starting point. We spent the next three and a half hours on a very interesting journey through the Camargue with them.

This landscape alone is worth a trip.

One tip for mosquito lovers, we didn't encounter any of the creatures. It was June when we went on the tour.

Regarding the mimosas, I encountered them in la Grande Motte and I was fascinated by their size and colors.
