Farewell Cook Islands

4.1. We take the tour to Rarotongan Beach Resort again and spend the day at the beach.

On the way back, we buy wine and invite Odette and Joseph. Joseph prefers to drink his beer and soon goes to the Fishing Club. Friday is the only day of the week when he doesn't have to handle late flights. Odette talks about the pros and cons of emigration and life here. Anyone who can read, write, and do math always gets a job here. Suddenly Joseph is back. Oops, it's already late. Fortunately, we don't have to get up early tomorrow. He tells us that he had a police check and was told to take the side road instead.😄

5.1. Our holiday on the farm with chickens, goats, a pig, many cats, and lots of fruit trees is coming to an end. I go for a run in the morning and pass by CIFA and the Football National 'Stadium'. There are fruit trees everywhere along the way. A great sight.

At 12:30 PM, Joseph takes us to the airport. We check in our luggage and then go to a beach bar. Many overweight people here again. We go back on time for boarding, but instead of 3:50 PM, as stated on our boarding pass, the flight departs at 4:40 PM, as stated on the website. It doesn't matter much here, it's just 'Island Time'.😉

The ATR of Air Tahiti has really bad seats and poor service. Even tomato juice is supposed to cost money and you can only pay with Pacific Franc. It's only a 2:20-hour flight to Tahiti, but it feels like eternity.

When we arrive in Tahiti, everything goes well. Our driver lets us go shopping and takes us to our AirBnB. A great apartment with a view over Papeete to Moorea, the neighboring island. Unfortunately, we have to chase away 3 big cockroaches. Well then, good night.🙄
