Tag 149: Hiking at Worthington Glacier

प्रकाशित: 13.08.2018

As the sun broke through the clouds this morning, we decided to hike along the glacier on a narrow ridge trail up the mountain. Initially, the path was not very steep, but it became steeper towards the end. The ground consisted only of gravel and both sides of the trail dropped steeply almost vertically. Here, we were particularly careful to take each step correctly to avoid slipping. After about an hour, we reached the highest point and also the end of the trail. The view was breathtaking, with the glacier on one side and the vast and untouched nature with many mountains on the other. After a descent with wobbly legs, we continued westward with the RV. We will be driving quite a bit in the next few days to spend our last week together on the Kenai Peninsula.
