I wake up early in the morning to plan the day. I decide to go on a rafting tour and I'm lucky to be able to join the tour at 10:15. It is supposed to rain in the afternoon for the next few days.
I am picked up from the hostel and we drive about 15 minutes to the meeting point at the Soča River, where we start with the boats. Our boat is fully occupied by a German team, 4 friends in their 20s, a family of 3, and me. The tour is really fun, we can also swim and let ourselves slide along a short stretch of current. One of my boat buddies kindly passed on the photos we could buy at the end for 10 euros. :)
The weather holds up the entire day, there is still no sign of thunderstorms in the afternoon. That's good because then I can still manage to walk around the lake once. I walk to the highest viewpoint and I am rewarded with a fantastic view:
On the way back, it starts to thunder. I don't believe that I will make it back dry because I still have a 40-minute walk ahead of me... Nevertheless, I have to capture this special scenery on a few photos. The second photo shows that it is already raining on the other side of the lake. I'm lucky and I arrive in the town when the rain has already passed. :)
In the evening, I really want to go out to eat because for the past 2 days I have only eaten snacks and takeaways. Luckily, I find a companion at the hostel. Thomas, from Ireland, my roommate from the first night, joins me. I'm happy to skip Slovenian food and we decide to go to Pizzeria Rustica, which was also recommended by Papa. We were not disappointed! :)
