When Genghis Khan rides with Hugo

The south wind blows and the wanderlust gnaws. It's no longer a worn-out backpack on your back and a few francs in your pockets like in your youth, but a proper travel vehicle. My partner and I had the crazy idea of converting a bus, which is very much in line with the spirit of the times. We are certainly not trendsetters who escape from Corona with a camper, but with Hügo we are realizing a long-held dream. Like a Mongolian shepherd with his sheep, Annina as a digital nomad will soon embark on the wide world in her mobile office. Converting a bus into a snail shell is beautiful, but the work is as slow-moving as the movement of the creature. Speaking of creatures - If I had known how much work awaits us, I would have bought my nomad a pony with saddlebags. Provided we survive the whole conversion without losing fingers and love, then our relationship will be as strong as the silicone adhesive that holds the walls together. Despite our seventh year of relationship, we have taken this risk and do not want to miss out on the undersized boards, the misplaced tools, the many helpers, or the small successes in the conversion process.

For now, my female Genghis Khan will navigate the country roads alone, as I still have to work a bit in the non-home office. In due course, I will jump onto our carriage and let the south wind carry us to the north. Maybe I will jump off again in Sweden and, God willing, complete my master's degree at a university. The only thing that will remain is an empty bank account and our only houseplant, which my mother-in-law will lovingly take care of.
