Breakfast was delivered to our campsite shortly after 8:00 am. It was included in the RV rental package, along with the last night's stay at this campground  😊. Once everything was packed up, we headed to CanaDreams for the return. The vehicle was checked, and the small damage to the rear left side (Berni hit something while driving 😬) was inspected. We also received some good tips for Vancouver from the employee at the Voralberg counter. Then, we took a taxi to the rented apartment in Granville. The landlady was not reachable by phone, so at 11:00 am we found ourselves standing in front of closed doors. After a while, Lisa and I went to Granville Island, a small peninsula with a market and small shops. Berni stayed with Jill, who was still fighting a cold, and continued trying to contact the landlady. Finally, at 2:00 pm, we were able to leave our luggage in the apartment and all went together to Granville Island, which was a 10-minute walk away.

Granville Island

Granville Island is known for the Public Market, a large food hall with fresh fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, cheese, sweets, Chinese food, sushi, fish and chips, and much more 😝. In old warehouses, you can also find a brewery, a distillery, an artist district, a broom store, and an apron store, along with many small shops. It's a truly exciting mix! We leisurely strolled through the neighborhood and took breaks in the shade on a nearby lawn. For dinner, the girls chose crêpes, I had Chinese food, and Berni got various types of salmon with bread and a small bottle of white wine from the fishmonger.

We were supposed to be back in the apartment by 7:00 pm to receive instructions from the landlady. In the afternoon, we had left the key for the cleaning lady so she could tidy up the apartment. Of course, no one showed up, and after making another phone call, we found out that our landlady had to work until 9:00 pm 😳... ???

Did we misunderstand something 🤔? We were now standing outside the apartment without a key and couldn't get in. Luckily, everyone had a lot of patience! Thank goodness for cell phones... !

Eventually, at around 9:30 pm, the landlady arrived and let us into the apartment. We finally got our key back 😊. We could finally unpack and take a shower. Yay... !
