Today I took it easy again. I liked the place so much that I decided to have another rest day. Artur, the owner, is very flexible. The night was extremely quiet, I was woken up cliché-like at 5 am by the neighbor's rooster. But I turned around and was able to sleep until 8.

Then it was time to do some laundry and plan some more routes. Tomorrow I will continue to Estonia, with a stopover before Tartu, before I will come back to the Baltic Sea. Of course, I also did some reading, the hot weather doesn't really inspire for much activity.

Only later in the afternoon, I took a short bike ride through the deserted Sigulda. Artur said that people are exhausted from the long Midsummer weekend.

Of course, I also updated myself on the current political situation. There is a lot to read in the media. Most Latvians, however, are calm and confident. On the one hand, they trust NATO and on the other hand, they do not consider Putin's capacity for an additional front to be very large. Nevertheless, as an old crisis fanatic, I naturally have a plan B and C and a worst-case plan. But I am confident that I won't need it and if I do, I will find out in time from the EDA, where I registered through the app, if something is going on. They usually do things quite well.
