Kejimkujik and Yarmouth

Today, Kejimkujik was on the agenda.

No, it's not a Czech trash metal band, but a national park here in Nova Scotia, located inland. So no sea. But more lakes and rivers.

The park is known, among other things, for its large population of turtles.

We rented a canoe and paddled back and forth for two hours.

Here, we suddenly saw the head of a turtle sticking out of the water.

Immediately, we bravely turned the canoe around and tried to paddle towards this turtle to get to know each other. After about ten minutes and eight spins around our own axis, we arrived at the turtle head, only to realize that it was just a branch sticking out of the water. Of course, I noticed it right away...

The weather was good compared to yesterday. Warm, but cloudy and windy. Therefore, we couldn't take a long trip on Lake Kejimkujik and had to limit ourselves to the river. But even that was beautiful.

After the canoe trip, to Aaron's delight, we took a short hike. The goal was a sandy beach by the lake where we could swim.

That was also the only reason why Aaron eventually agreed to come along. After about an hour of hiking and swimming, he was ready for the two-hour drive to our last stop in Nova Scotia, the coastal town of Yarmouth.

Here, we booked two rooms with a Canadian family through the website "AirBnB", just seven minutes away from the ferry terminal.

The house is beautiful, right on a lake, and the owners are teachers and... a policeman!

As if we're drawn to each other. It can't be the smell, I just showered. And Nicole always smells good....

After a delicious meal at a brewery in Yarmouth...

...and a concert with the white Stevie Wonder...

...(his name is Terry Kelly, he's also blind, but not as good at singing), we sat on the terrace with our hosts Ron and Cindi and their two dogs and had a great conversation.

So our last evening in Canada ends beautifully...

Tomorrow we will take the "The CAT" catamaran ferry back to the USA.

But we would rather stay in Nova Scotia....
