Bye, bye Sri Lanka

We spent our last days in Sri Lanka in the beautiful city of Ella. Tomorrow we are going to Negombo. The city is close to the airport and the day after tomorrow a new chapter of our trip starts - the Africa chapter.

We've been hiking a lot the last few days. Yesterday we were at Ella Rock. The Ella Rock is 1340 meters high and is 340 meters above the village. To get to the mountain we walked on the train tracks for an hour. The path then took us through tea plantations. The last 45 minutes were a steep climb through rough terrain. At exactly this time it started to rain, which wasn't a problem for us because we had our rain jackets with us. When we reached the summit, the rain stopped and we were able to enjoy the view. Shortly before the descent, new clouds began to form below us, so we found ourselves between the clouds.

We will be traveling a lot over the next two days. Tomorrow it will take us about five hours to Negombo and the day after tomorrow we will fly to Tanzania with two changes, a total of 19 hours. For this reason, we used today to relax again. We went for a massage and watched a lot of Netflix. The weather wasn't that good anyway.

For dinner we go to the restaurant for the last time, where we serve the delicious Rice & Curry. Since we asked about the recipes, we are even allowed into the kitchen today and we are shown how to prepare our favorite vegetable curries (pumpkin, eggplant and leek). We are really looking forward to Africa, because here we will finally be able to hug friends and family again after such a long time.
