On Monday morning, I drove to Split Apple Rock, took a photo, and then continued driving to Marahau, where the information center for the Abel Tasman National Park / Great Walk is located. There, I booked a water taxi that took me to a bay, and from there, I walked back to the car for about 20km.

From there, I drove straight to Pancake Rocks without any noteworthy stops. They were quite nice to see, and I also went to the beach during low tide.

At Hokitika, there is really blue water and a beautiful area just outside the town.

The next stop was the Franz Josef Glacier, where I got information about the weather and the track/condition of the trail at the info center. It rained all night and a little in the morning, but I still hiked the Roberts Point Track. Just before I reached the viewpoint, the rain stopped and the weather was beautiful. I had a great view of the glacier, which is usually only seen from a helicopter. I only met 4 people on the trail. Today, I visited the Fox Glacier and walked around Lake Matheson, taking beautiful pictures.

I am currently in Wanaka, and it's very busy here because of the ski resorts and the nice weather on the weekend. Tomorrow, I will hike the Roys Peak Track. The mountain is about 1500m high, and from there, I will have a beautiful view of the mountains and glaciers. I wanted to go snowboarding for a day, but when I found out the prices, I'm not so sure anymore. A day pass for the ski resort costs about $115-$130, and I would also need all the equipment...

My journey will then continue to Queenstown and Milford Sound.
