Last Sunday we took a day trip to Litchfield in the National Park. The National Park is one of the attractions in the Northern Territory. We started shortly before 7am, about 130 km inland. Since we have no mobile phone reception (and no navigation) in the Outback, we had to orient ourselves based on road signs and daily odometer.

We visited the famous waterfalls Florence Falls, Wangi Falls, Tolmer Falls and the Buley Rockhole. There is a parking lot in front of each attraction, so we hardly had to walk. However, we decided to take some circular hiking trails and were rewarded with a beautiful landscape. Simply fantastic to have breakfast or lunch at a beautiful and lonely place. At some places it is allowed to go swimming, which is really nice for a refreshing break. Unfortunately, many tourists arrived by bus at noon, so the tranquility was over.

If time permits, we will go back again, but this time for camping. There is no entrance fee to the park, only a $7 camping fee per night per vehicle. There is a toilet there. For showering, you have to use the waterfalls.
