Soon it's Christmas - and we're in Darwin

We're enjoying the sunny weather and missing the typical Wet Season thunderstorms. But they are supposed to occur more frequently after Christmas, we are curious. Darwin is one of the places with the most lightning strikes per minute. Otherwise, it's typical Wet Season here. At least 25 degrees (at night and we start freezing) up to 38 degrees and very high humidity, but with fans it's bearable. Every day we enjoy our pool in the apartment. In nature/on the beach everything is now so beautifully green and more dangerous (crocodiles and box jellyfish). We can't even imagine how cold it must be in Germany, looking at all the snow pictures we receive.

The Advent season is completely different from what we are used to. The temperatures don't remind us of Christmas at all. But the streets and shopping centers are beautifully decorated for Christmas. We did a lot of shopping in the last few days (we are giving ourselves Christmas presents). I got new shoes (Padi already got new ones), we left ours completely destroyed in Bali, there they get a second life from people who have nothing. In addition, there was a great G-shock on sale, so now we always know when low and high tide is and the visibility of the moon is predicted. And Padi bought his Christmas outfit. We have also discovered the German news on TV. It helps to alleviate homesickness, unfortunately!

We do a lot to not think about not being at home. But Christmas without family will probably be very strange.
