Akaroa... southeast of Christchurch

Day 58 - 11/6/23 - Drive to Akaroa

The journey from Lake Tekapo to Akaroa takes us from 700m to 70m.

The landscapes through which we drive are still impressively beautiful and the sky with clouds and sun create a melange to dream about - when you're not behind the wheel.

On the journey we see a railway for only the second time, which is not part of everyday life here - there is no public transport.

The apartment we rented is located above the bay on which the town is located, with a correspondingly beautiful view.

Day 59 - 11/07/23 - Akaroa

Sleeping in, a long breakfast and a long walk along the bay with a stroll through the shops are our daily program - cappu/latte included, of course.

Our landlord brought us homemade lemon muffins, which also taste great.

The last few days in New Zealand have begun and somehow everything is a bit surreal. Germany is far away - especially the hysterical cries from politics and society - and we have to slowly adjust to it

to acclimate to a significant rise in temperature in Australia.

But before that there are still 4 days in Christchurch.
