From Cape Breton to Quebec

We continue on familiar paths through Novascotia and New Brunswick, with the difference that we visit new places.

This takes us to Sackville, which is known for bird watching. There is a large water park called 'Waterfowl Park' with 2km of boardwalks that run all around and in between. In addition to ducks and their ducklings, we discovered various small birds in the reeds.

Continuing along the coast of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, we reach Kouchibouguac National Park. The nature reserve covers an area of ​​238km².
We are here to see the high sand dunes and long sandy beaches. On the drive, we see the first black bears, a mother with her cub.
The weather is cooperating today, and under the full sun, we enjoy the day on the beach - Kelly Beach, building sand castles and digging in the water.

We spend the night at the only campsite in the park. It is very large with clean showers and a large playground.

The next day, we want to explore the other side of the park with its marshy wetlands, meadows, and mixed coniferous forests.
Armed with enough mosquito spray, we set off. The hiking trail is not very well marked, and after the first few meters, the first fallen trees block the way. So we keep pushing forward, and the mosquitoes become more and more persistent. This is not what we had imagined. Quite annoying and painful when the mosquitoes sting the face.

After there was no straight tree on the way, we turn around and decide to move on. We make the next stop in Brathurst. In addition to dunes and the ocean, we find a playground in a quiet place. Later, we realized that we were in the territory of a fox, as it made several rounds around us.

At the next waterfall, Jens wanted to fly the drone again. But that proved difficult without network reception. Once the network was available, an authorization had to be obtained, which we unfortunately did not receive because there is an airport in the immediate vicinity. So the drone remained still, and we went for a short hike to the riverbank.

We start the new week in Quebec.
