South Island Trip - 18.4.2018

We had to get up at just before 5 o'clock in the morning after a very cold night, so that we arrived in time at the ship, on which we slept today. After a long but very beautiful bus ride, we arrived at the boat one hour late despite getting up early (fortunately they waited for us), which took us across Lake Manapouri and after a one-hour bus ride to the beautiful fjord called Doubtful Sound. There we were taken to a large ship where we also slept. The ship was unexpectedly luxurious and the service was top notch! In the afternoon, various activities such as kayaking or boating were offered. Dinner was prepared by a Thai chef who cooked a variety of dishes that were all very, very good. After dinner, we had a lecture about the organisms in New Zealand and their evolution and endangerment, which was interesting.
