In the old days in Barra there was a lot to explore. Unfortunately, most of it was literally washed away because it has been raining for two days. And unfortunately, our next destination doesn't look any better, but we remain optimistic.

Fortunately, we still managed to visit the Morro da Urca, a hill that belongs to the same rock group as the Zuckerbergs, which we reached by cable car. We chose it over the Jesus statue because the view from Urca is also sensational and there are significantly fewer tourists. We didn't go all the way up to the Sugarloaf because of the cost ;-).

The taxi ride took us to a beautiful area with wonderful buildings (museums, universities, and artistic graffiti) that is under military control. At the edge, we found the cable car station. We squeezed into the gondola with about 40 other people, luckily the ride only takes 10 minutes. Once we reached the top, we were simply overwhelmed by the view, so it's worth letting the pictures speak for themselves.
