First of all, wow, we are really surprised and excited… but from the beginning. We arrive in Kuala Lumpur relatively late, first immigration is super quick, then with the Klia Express for 7.50 euros in 30 minutes into the city. Then a grab for 4 euros to the apartment. And then our mouths open for the first time... the buildings are all illuminated, skyscrapers as far as you can see and oriental palaces in between. KL keeps what it promises: modern, cosmopolitan, cross-religious. The view from the apartment is amazing, 26th floor. Directly on the Petrona towers (452 m high, but very impressive) and the KL Tower (421 m high). PNB 118's new tallest building is 678 m tall and is the second tallest building in the world.
We quickly set off to find something to eat and end up on Party Street in Bukit Bintang, less than 200 m from the hotel. We eat Mexican and drink cocktails. Things are significantly more expensive here than in Vietnam, especially alcohol. Logical because it is a Muslim country. But here all religions live peacefully together, Hindus, Buddhists, Christians and Muslims.
The next morning we explore the city, Chinatown, the Indian quarter, Central Market, the Masjiam Jamek with the confluence of the two rivers Klang and Gombak. This is where KL was originally founded. Independence Square, the old clock tower. There is so much to discover here.
In the evening we are lucky and buy a new Go Pro. Our old one broke down and then we eat in Bintang. A wonderful hustle and bustle.
Today we went to the Batu Caves, world famous and incredibly impressive. A holy temple of the Hindus. Colorful and carefree. You climb over 300 steps into the famous cave. Then we go shopping in Chinatown. We were extremely successful. Here you can buy really good knockoffs of all brands at super affordable prices. Girls here, we have to go there together… the shopping paradise. 🤩 We will end the evening at the Petrona Towers with music and water games.
