Well-deserved vacation on vacation

So after 7 months, our last working day is finally here, which we already managed on Thursday.

Who would have thought that we would stay here for so long? It's funny that Meningie, this small town, has become our home for such a long time.

We're actually really happy that we made one last attempt at the laundry in Adelaide to get our last days together for the second visa. Of course, something had to happen on our last day... the morning was already over and after lunch break, we went to work one last time.

So we got into the car all excited, started driving, and halfway through the journey, we heard a strange noise and the car seemed crooked. The rear left tire was flat and we had to change it on the road. Of course, the last day couldn't go by without any problems...

In any case, we needed new tires for the back soon anyway and we're glad that it didn't happen in the middle of nowhere. The new tires will be delivered to the workshop on Monday, so we will definitely stay here until at least Monday.

Last weekend when we had time off, we drove through Tailem Bend one last time. That's the town we always drove through whenever we had to go shopping and always got cookies from Subway.

In Tailem Bend, there is an old pioneer town called Old Tailem Town. Every time we drove past it, we said that we have to have a look again. Well, this weekend was the time. From the outside, you couldn't even tell how big the town is.

Admittedly, in the parking lot and also during the day, we felt a bit like in a horror movie... it started with very old weird music playing on the parking lot, like when the murderer turns off the power in the town at dusk and then turns on music. (exactly such music was playing there) Then at the entrance, a very old woman greeted us, dressed like an old farmer from back then, with her crooked and broken teeth asking, "Are you Backpackers?" As if to say, "You're the next backpackers we're going to abduct? :-D."

It wasn't that bad, but that's how we really felt. Nevertheless, we paid the entrance fee and looked at everything. Pretty interesting, we have to say, very big and everything you can imagine is there. (Old houses of poor people and slightly wealthier people, an old cinema, a supermarket, a toy store, a train station, a tailor shop, even an old law firm with real law books from back then) We actually liked the old vehicles the most and it was also pretty interesting to see how the houses were built back then. (As long as the house is standing) That was our last day in Tailem Bend, of course, it ended with buying a looot of cookies at Subway :-D.

A few days ago, we also went shooting with a colleague from work ;-), we had never held a gun or anything like that in our hands before, but today we can say that we both shot with a shotgun and a sniper rifle! That was pretty cool, even though we only practiced shooting at cans and bottles.
