After a calm, cold night and a hearty breakfast, we set off for our next destination, Wells Gray Provincial Park. We have 200 kilometers and about 3 hours of driving ahead of us.

I had looked up some recommendations on the internet and picked a nice campground, Pyramide campground, in the middle of the forest - not far from the hiking attractions. Unfortunately, we couldn't book anything there either. The motto on many campsites is first come, first served. Since we should be there around noon this time, I am very confident that we will still get something.

First, we have to go around Green Lake, so we take the opportunity to look for the lost hubcap - but nothing. Instead, we encounter some really bad potholes on the road.

and some very nice cottages by the lakeshore.

The rest of the drive is uneventful and ends at the supermarket in Clearwater.

And I said, let's take off the other hubcap, but no, now the second one is also gone.

We've been driving for over 30 years and have never lost a hubcap, and here we lose 2 in 2 days 🤦‍♀️.

Somewhere between Green Lake and Clearwater, it fell victim to a pothole. Very annoying, but as I always say, "it's like getting caught by a speed camera", don't get too upset about it.

Yesterday I threw the question out there, why do we have 3 of everything (3 plates, cups, bowls, glasses, towels) but only 2 pillows. Today I know why, after a glass took flight and shattered on the floor when opening the cupboard.

It seems like it's not our day. Well, let's sweep everything together, stow away the groceries, and then we head to the last stretch to the campground. After about 40 km

we turn right into the destination street, over a small wooden bridge,

that goes over a rushing river, the Murtle River, and we're on the campground. There are still plenty of available spots here, but even more hungry mosquitoes. They sit by the hundreds on the windshield, licking their lips for our blood.

We circle the campground 3 times to find a suitable spot. But nothing seems to fit right. The last campground already had no power connection, no showers, only pit toilets, and this one is exactly the same plus thousands of mosquitoes. It seems like we're slowly outgrowing that stage, just pit toilets and candles are not enough to make us happy.

So let's leave - we definitely won't stay here. We find the alternative a few kilometers back. A campground with electricity, water, proper toilets, showers, even a disc golf course, and a few less mosquitoes.

We will stay here for 2 days. Finally, a chance to relax. Go for some hikes, play frisbee golf, rest - hopefully the weather will hold up.
