Today we have to leave Sydney. But before we go to the Blue Mountains, we make a detour to Bondi Beach, which is only 6 km away. Here is the legendary Iceberg Pool.

It belongs to the only licensed winter swimming club in the world. Founded in 1929 by lifeguards who wanted to stay fit in winter. All members receive a swim suit with writing on their bottom and a swim cap. One club rule says:

Members must complete at least 3 out of 4 Sunday swims during the winter swimming season (May to September) for a period of 5 years. If they fail to do so, a written explanation must be submitted. Women have also been admitted since 1995.

It was cool, cold and salty in the pool. A great experience.

After bathing and sunbathing, we embark on the 2-hour journey through Sydney's rush hour to the Blue Mountains.

Traffic is quite heavy, even in the outskirts of Sydney.

And then we enter our room and .... what a view.

Wow. Sit on the terrace and enjoy the view. Unfortunately, we didn't have much time to enjoy the view today, as we arrived around 6:30 p.m. and it was already almost dark after the technical briefing on the satellite receiver, TV and air conditioning. Around 9:00 p.m. a thunderstorm rolled over the valley. That was loud. Watching lightning from bed without getting wet is very relaxing.
