Our next destination was Omaha Beach in Normandy. Shortly after passing Le Havre, we had a breakdown. In the middle of the French countryside, we managed to call the ADAC just before losing signal completely. The ADAC guy arrived after over an hour of waiting and being stared at. Luckily, he was able to fix it on the spot. We were afraid we would have to spend the night at some random workshop. When we arrived at the beach, it felt strange knowing that more than 5,000 people died at this place.
Our parking spot for the night was on a small farm. It was a bit run-down, but Fiete could be parked nicely and we could take a shower and relax.
There was also a farm dog. We called him 'Monsieur Woof'. He sat in front of our door all day and night. On our further travels, we met several other dogs, as almost every camper has a guard dog. But 'Monsieur Woof' remained our number 1.
