Originally, we wanted to stay in Bali for two weeks and then spend a few days snorkeling on the east coast. However, everyone (my friend from Berlin, locals, people we met along the way) raved about the amazing Gili Islands. They are located off the coast of Lombok, east of Bali. So, we changed our plans once again and booked five nights on the middle of the three small islands, Gili Meno, in a typical bamboo hut. It is paradise here, with endless beaches around the whole island, turquoise water, friendly people, and nice little restaurants and bars. The only downside is that until a few years ago, the fishermen here used dynamite fishing, so many parts of the beach resemble coral graveyards. Such a shame.
Today, we circumnavigated the island, unfortunately without flip-flops, and our feet were quite battered afterwards from the hot sand and sharp coral fragments. For tomorrow, we have planned a glass-bottom boat trip with snorkeling and then a lot of relaxation, reading, swimming, and eating. ...
Our next flight to Sydney on November 3rd is already booked - so there will be another little report. Until then, greetings from us to everyone who sent us comments and greetings through the blog, thank you very much. This way, we are always a little connected to home.
