For almost two weeks now we have been traveling with our van north of Auckland. We drove up the west coast to the northernmost point, Cape Reinga. On the way there, we made stops and went for hikes. As you can see from the photos, we have become big fans of coastal walks. On the way south, we drove along the east coast, which is also beautiful.
New Zealand - at least what we have seen so far - is a fantastic country. We haven't had a day yet where the scenery wasn't spectacular or at least great. Northland is mostly hilly farmland with huge beaches, or cliffs with small bays.
We have now gotten used to traveling with the van. Since the evenings are very cool, we have no choice but to go to bed early. The Christmas season has passed us by so far. Occasionally, we have seen decorations in supermarkets, but we don't feel any Christmas atmosphere in this summer weather.
I'm cold now - I have to go to the warm van bed. More coming soon. Gitti
