Today is New Year's Eve and the sky is bright blue and very warm. The city is very quiet, hardly any cars and scooters on the road. That should change again in the early evening.
The day started with a 60-minute full-body massage and a 40-minute foot massage (for 55€!). There were five of us (2 more classmates of Carolin) and we started with a shared foot bath. Between the full-body and foot massages, we had herbal tea. Here you get a top and bottom to wear so that there is no direct contact with the skin. The massage is more like manual therapy, but very intensive. The foot massage was more normal with cream and direct contact. To finish, we had tea again and herbal jelly with sauce.
After that, it was time for lunch - a typical street food stall with pork dumplings and ginger and soy sauce and spicy sauce.
We walked to the Tiger and Dragon Pagoda and along the way to the warrior by the lake. Took a break in a coffee house and then briefly returned to Carolin's apartment until it was time to go to the special night market on New Year's Eve with Carolin's classmates.
Compared to the normal night markets, it was more like a fairground with food stalls and inexpensive things and live animals for sale. Today Uwe tried something new again - shrimp and crab cakes.
