Rishikesh

Hello everyone - I've been in Rishikesh in the north of India since yesterday afternoon - as you can see, there are mountains here. But it's still about 5 hours away from the Himalayas. From the airport, I took a 1-hour taxi ride for 15 € (I know, a dream price, although locals only pay 10 €) to my hostel. The driver was more than happy about my navigation on the phone and he loved the German voice :))

However, because of that, I couldn't take any photos on the way. The route was extremely winding and a very narrow road. And he had to pay tolls several times along the way. The road from the street up to my hostel is steep and has many stairs. I have a 6-bed room here for girls only. It's not very big but it has a balcony with a view of the next house wall :)

Yesterday, I went to a café by the river with one of the girls from my room.

It's cool here at night and in the morning - very pleasant.

Sleeping with air conditioning and a fan is still difficult, mainly because of the noise the machines make.

And India is really very dirty.
