Day 16, Béziers, Sète

Byatangajwe: 12.11.2019

Before breakfast, we are exploring one of the most beautiful (but also smallest) market halls, les Halles Vauban.

Then we had Pain au Chocolat, rhubarb tart, and chocolate sticks made of yeast dough for breakfast at our favorite French bakery chain 'Paul'.

Well strengthened, we made our way across Languedoc to Béziers. There happened to be a flea market waiting for us. After a short tour of the stands, we went to Pica Pica and tried Spanish-French tapas.

From now on, our route led us along the coast to Sète in bright sunshine. When we arrived in this town, we were both amazed. We hadn't imagined the Venice of France with its rivers and canals to be this beautiful. It happened when we were parking in front of the hotel.

The Peugeot turned into a true French car. It got its first small, but clearly visible, scratch on the fender. Even though a local tried to guide us, it was too late for us. But we feel more French than ever. There were ships of all sizes all around us: yachts, sailboats, small fishing boats, and large fishing boats. Kevin was in paradise, so our exploration tour took us along the canal, to the harbor (with a lot of fishing), and of course, to the shops. Finally, we ended up in the harbor restaurant 'Coquillage et Crustaces'. Red and white folding chairs, old wooden tables, numerous patio heaters, and an open kitchen create a totally cozy atmosphere. Plus, we had really good food and were served very friendly and lovely. An absolutely recommendable restaurant that offers more than the 'usual'.
