On the 8th day of our tour, we visited Robberg in Plettenberg Bay, which is only 10 minutes away from our accommodation. As the name suggests, Robberg is a national park where you can see many seals on the shores and rocks. We set off for Robberg at around 8:30 am. The entrance fee was 60 Rand per person (3.50€). After parking our car in the parking lot, we started our hike. There are three different trails in this national park. The shortest trail is 2km long and takes about an hour, the middle trail is 5km long, and the longest trail is 9.2km long. We decided to take the middle trail as our legs were still a bit sore from yesterday's hike in Tsitsikamma National Park, where we had already walked more than 10km. Even though we took the middle trail, it was amazing to see the stunning views from this mountain. We could stop almost every 100m to enjoy a different view. Of course, we also saw seals, but they were below the mountain on the rocks, so we could only see them from a distance.
We were truly fascinated by this mountain, although the 9km long route is quite long and challenging, especially after 4-5 hours of hiking. All in all, we highly recommend visiting this mountain if you ever come near Plettenberg Bay. It is simply an amazing experience to look from this mountain towards the city and the bays.
After completing the middle trail and returning to the parking lot after about 2.5 hours, we went to a restaurant in Plettenberg Bay to recharge before an afternoon of swimming in the pool.
