January 2020

Byatangajwe: 23.12.2020

Hello dear residents of beautiful Baden-Württemberg, visitors and long-time residents :)

We were very happy about the beautiful photos of the celebrations together (Jutta's wonderful birthday garden party), the challenging events (e.g. stacking hay bales) and activities (e.g. the donkey hike around Eningen). So we thought, why not send you some nice photos of Rhineland-Palatinate, of things we have experienced this year ... and some pictures of us, the Reifenbergs. So to speak, a little year in review blog from beautiful Ingelheim-Heidesheim.

Have fun looking at the pictures and reading. Annette, Ralf, Emilia and Oskar wish you a lot of fun. And now let's go ...

The December of the previous year didn't bode well for 2020, but we didn't really realize it yet. Ralf's business trip to Sydney shortly before Christmas 2019 was more than ambivalent: a dream city, the incredible Katoomba National Park (unfortunately only a 60-minute whirlwind tour, not enough for sightseeing), colorfully decorated Christmas trees in the middle of summer, a scorching 40 degrees heat, air conditioners in offices and restaurants on the coldest setting (long-sleeved shirts were necessary, but not for Australian guys like Crocodile Dundee) ... bushfires and smoke everywhere (see photo!). In the hotel room, it smelled in the morning as if someone had kept a bonfire right in front of the bed all night. And at airports like Hong Kong, they were already measuring body temperature, why?

--- JANUARY 2020 ---

The January was not too bad in terms of snow, but our snow is a bit slushy. Yes, we can imagine that there was more powder snow in the Swabian Alb at this time,
than here in the Rhine-Main area, right?
