On 28.08.2021 it started. By train from Bern to Zurich Airport. Luckily, we bought a power bank at the airport.

The flight with Edelweiss (WK34) started at 13:45 - a direct flight to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

Our seats were maximum right next to the emergency exit with plenty of legroom.

At the airport in Punta Cana, after a 9.5-hour flight, our taxi to the hotel was already waiting. Charles de Gaulle, our taxi driver, offered to organize all scheduled excursions for us and harassed us in the following days with messages and voice notes.

So first relax at Catalonia Bavaro Beach. The apartment was really great (upgrade to Romantic) and had a large terrace with a lounge.

Catalonia has a buffet restaurant and 4 à la carte restaurants (steakhouse, Japanese, Italian, and one with local food).

Regularly, the seaweed dissolved directly on the beach, especially after heavy winds. Therefore, the water near the shore is often brownish in color. But further out, it is more beautiful.
