Now the time has come. The months have flown by and our baby is now 4 months old - The first big trip as a family can begin! All preparations have been made and we have packed our caravan with T4. Inside, we have found a place for the stroller, surfboard, and more. And slowly, it is also time for us to say goodbye to the spacious living space and exchange it for 12 square meters. We have not set a fixed route or destination. If we can manage and little Berno cooperates, we would like to go to the coast of Portugal, but it is not set. We prefer to take things easy and stay where we feel comfortable.
I am a bit concerned about the whole organization with a baby, but I believe that many things will become easier quickly, for example, when my pants selection in the morning is reduced from 10 to 2. ;-) The anticipation is huge and despite all the uncertainty about how this adventure will unfold, there is a lot of confidence. Especially because I believe and hope that my Peter will only have lucky days for the next two months. The tendency for bad luck has already been used up when he accidentally (?) ran over our backpack with the old laptop while loading the bike. (That's also a way to get rid of things... because I don't know any insurance that covers laptops that have been run over.) Well, after I had overcome this shock, I was also ready to go.
So we set the date for March 3rd and wanted to leave in the early morning hours after the first breastfeeding session with Berno. - Actually, we started on March 3rd at 0:01 am because Peter couldn't sleep anyway. :-) The first leg went completely relaxed with small breastfeeding breaks across Germany. In Alsace, we crossed the border into France, where we found our first overnight camp in the inconspicuous Burnhaupt le Haut after a brave 788 km. Unfortunately, we were still far from our destination "the journey into spring". During the night at 2-6 degrees, despite the caravan heating, the three of us were quite cold.
