Only 18 days left, then it starts 😊

Byatangajwe: 11.05.2022

In 18 days, it will start without a route, just with a rough direction. First, it will go towards East Germany, then towards Poland. In Poland, I will turn south towards Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Moldova, Bulgaria, and then to Turkey. From there, I will go to Georgia and Armenia.

The way back will again go through Turkey, but this time via Greece, Albania, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Serbia, Bosnia, Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, and then back home.

Let's see if I can do it. As mentioned in my first post, nobody motivates me, I don't have to give any explanations, I can just go with the flow.

My equipment is complete, the motorcycle is freshly serviced and has new tires, it's ready to go!

In this post, I would like to introduce you to my equipment. Probably, like many long-distance travelers on their first trip, I'm carrying too much, we'll see. And whatever is excessive will be packaged and sent to my home address.

Photo 1 shows my navigation, a Garmin Zumo XT with Europe and Asia maps.

A Garmin Inreach Mini, with this device you can make emergency calls via satellite when there is no mobile network, or you can also send text messages.

Photo 2: In the black pannier, there is my tent and a small camping table. In the yellow-black bag, my clothes are packed.

Photo 3: The contents of a suitcase. Including: 1 folding spade, 1 multimeter, cable ties, mini air compressor, hammer, work gloves, multi-oil, silicone spray, spare fuses, flashlight, work light, camping chair, sleeping bag, air mattress, and a Proxon socket wrench set.

Photo 4: My pantry, noodles, various instant soups and meals, coffee. (I know, a balanced diet is something different.)

Photo 5: An additional pouch glued inside the suitcase lid. In this pouch, there are copies of all important documents such as driver's license, vehicle registration document, ID card and passport, and a second-worst copy of the green insurance card. User manual for the motorcycle, as well as an emergency credit card.

Photo 6: The contents of suitcase No. 2. Very important: toilet paper, 2 microfiber travel towels, tripod for the phone, travel medicine kit, duct tape, spare batteries, notebook, maps, bag with charging equipment, bag with action cameras, spare glasses.

Photo 7 and 8: This is my kitchen. Cookware, cutlery, coffee mug, knife, gasoline stove, towel, trash bags, headlamp.

Photo No. 9: My tank bag. Bag with all documents, travel diary, compass, binoculars, earphones, multi-tool, knife, cable lock, spare key, emergency card, and 12-volt multiple USB station for charging while riding.

Attached to the panniers are bottle holders for three water bottles and a fuel bottle.

What is not visible in the photos: there are two additional pouches on the motorcycle with first aid kit, tire repair kit, and reflective vest.

In a small box, there are tire levers, ratchet and matching sockets for the axles, needle-nose pliers, and pipe wrench.

A lot of clothes, the bike will be top-heavy. We'll see ;)
