Today we returned to Chile. On the way back, we wanted to spend our last pesos at the last gas station before the border. However, the gasoline was limited to 15 liters (1,000 pesos) because it was scarce at this gas station. That's Argentina. Nothing works smoothly and surprises are no longer surprises.
The border crossing to Chile was very fast. We were back on the Ruta del Fin del Mundo (Road to the End of the World) and back with the friendly Chileans.
Arriving in Puerto Natales, we took a detour to the Milodón Cave. The Milodón lived 15,000 - 10,000 years ago and was a giant sloth. It weighed 1 ton and was over 2 meters tall. The super cave formed when the glacier retreated at the end of the ice age. In a second cave, the first traces of human life were found about 10,000 years ago. This cave is one of the most important places in South America.
After the visit, we checked into our very extraordinary hotel, where we were received very friendly. Enter Appelgren Boutique Hotel in Google.
