Beach day with 'hair nice'

We're taking it easy for the past few days and we all realize: we've seen soooo much in the past weeks that we've had enough of more impressions and rush.

So: everyone sleeps in (except me, I was already awake at 07:00 - Sebastian from Munich noticed...) today and then the plan was to go to the beach.

But without a parasol, well, that's not great, so Matthes and I quickly went to the hardware store before breakfast and bought a 'Beach Umbrella' for a tenner and because it was so cheap we also got a beach/camping chair for 7 dollars (bargain hunters - the man by my side noticed it)!

And because the supermarket was on the way, we grabbed some water and fruit.

So breakfast was a bit late (outsiders might have thought two-thirds of us slept in, it got that late) and then the plan was changed on a whim and we looked for a hairdresser for Ursula.

Good thing we went to the supermarket earlier today: there was a shopping center attached with 3 hair salons!

So off to the hairdresser (we liked number 2, we didn't even look at number 3) and then Ursula got her hair done (she could have chosen between a pierced or blue-haired hairdresser - she chose the pierced one and so the blue lady had to take care of another customer's hair... not the bacon: the hair).

In the meantime, Matthes and I got the ingredients for the evening barbecue (Porterhouse steak, Barramundi, Tiger prawns, Sausage with orange & blueberry, Lamb sausage with mint & rosemary, Chicken skewers with macadamia, Potatoes, Coleslaw, Corn on the cob, Zucchini). A delicious Australian Chardonnay (Catamongstthepidgeons) was added at the request of a single (older) lady (great choice... it's already gone...) and only then we went to the beach.

So: the fancy hairstyle looked great until we arrived at the beach (Sunshine Beach - right around the corner from us) and the wind blew against us!

The surf was really strong and you couldn't really swim - more like hopping over the waves and making sure you don't swallow too much water... the surfers and bodyboarders around us loved it and offered a great sight...

Unfortunately, there are also jellyfish down here that sting a bit (and also some that sting more - something with Bluebottledings: not nice at all!). Nothing happened, but no one needs that, so tomorrow we'll go to a different beach (Main Beach), where the water (hopefully) is a bit calmer (and the stupid jellyfish aren't there).

Then, after we had enough sun, beach & sea, Grillmeister Matthes conjured up a wonderful dinner... 😍
