Our Caribbean cruise from Barbados

Byatangajwe: 11.04.2019

Today we are docked in Grenada. Since our excursion started very early, we went to the bakery for breakfast. It was also very delicious here, but there was less choice.

We were taken off the ship again and on the way to the buses, the photographers on board took photos again. Again, we were divided into smaller buses. In our bus, there was an English-speaking guide and a young lady from the shore excursion department. In one of the other buses, one of the onboard photographers also rode along.

The first stop was at Annandale Waterfall. We had about 20 minutes there. Everyone could walk down to the waterfall on their own. There were also several sellers at the entrance who wanted to sell spice necklaces. Later there was also a man with a monkey on a leash. For money, you could have your picture taken with the monkey on your shoulder. Well... I really don't need that. The path to the waterfall was beautiful. You almost felt like you were in the jungle. There were also many beautiful flowers and plants here. At the waterfall, there were two jumpers ready to jump from the top of the cliff. They turned it into a kind of show so that you would give them a tip at the end. The photographer took pictures of us there before we went back up to the buses.

Somehow nobody seemed to remember which bus they had been on...we didn't either...it was a bit chaotic. For example, the photographer sat with us in the bus and she was absolutely sure that it was the right bus. Well, until the people came who had been sitting there... then she had to admit that she had ended up in the wrong bus. After that, we were also given a bus number to avoid such actions at the next stops. Grin.

The next stop was Fort Frederick, an old fortress, or what was left of it. From there, you had a fantastic view of the harbor, where the Mein Schiff was located. Some things about the history were told and a few more photos were taken before we continued.

The last stop was Grand Anse Beach. We stopped in the parking lot of the Radisson Hotel and were then led through it towards the beach. There was a welcome drink at the bar. Rum with cola, which tasted very strongly of alcohol. Not my thing. Then we finally went to the beach. There were no more free loungers, but that didn't bother us. We took off our clothes and went into the sea. A great beach. I really liked the beach, white sand and clear turquoise water. Pure Caribbean. To finish, the photographer did a little beach shooting with us before we went back to the ship. The excursion was great, we can only recommend it.

In the afternoon, I had an appointment at the spa for a hot stone massage. I have always been a fan of this massage and I enjoyed it very much here as well.

In the evening, we went to the Atlantic Classic for dinner. Today we got a window seat.

Later, we went to the pool deck, where a pool party was taking place. We found a nice spot by the pool and enjoyed ourselves there with a cocktail. Later, the couple from the forum meeting joined us, it was his 50th birthday today. We had to toast to that.

Next up is the report on the second day at sea.
