The Cafetero, the coffee region of Colombia, was recommended to us to visit and so we began the next bus ride to Salento. Quickly we had a delicious dinner, watched a series and went to bed. In the morning, we took the jeep to Villa de Cocora to start the beautiful 6-hour hike. The path led along the river again and again, and we hopped over the rickety wooden bridges to observe the birds at the hummingbird house with a drink. We got into a conversation with a German couple when there was a roadblock caused by aggressive horses, and at the summit we continued chatting until we had a sunburn. The view of the green, lush landscape and the palm trees was very beautiful! Back in the valley, we went straight to an unusual coffee tour with a teenager who didn't like to talk about coffee, but rather about religion, the environment, and drugs in Colombia. Back in the jeep, we had a Menu del Día (daily menu) and then our only day here was over and we continued to Medellín in the evening.
