From Ottobrunn to Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm

Byatangajwe: 15.06.2020

Traveling is a drug - but you don't get addicted to traveling itself, but to the state it puts you in and the emotions you experience. Klaus Fritz

A huge dream is now coming true. I've been thinking about going on a world trip for a few years now. A journey with only the necessities that I need for my life. What a feeling it must be to be free from big possessions and attachments and to travel around the world... that's what I dreamt of. Now this dream is finally coming true. After quitting my job in January, finishing everything in the last few weeks, it's time to explore the big wide world. Just traveling through the world, meeting people, experiencing nature... getting out of the grind of our society, where I couldn't find much time for the things that are important to me. Looking back, it was a race for existence. My wish to live this life here on this beautiful earth at my own pace is now coming true. I thank all the dear people who have accompanied me so far, who have been excited about and supported me on this great adventure. To let them participate, I want to start this blog.

On June 1, 2020 at 1:00 p.m., my daughter Carina and I will start our bicycles from Ottobrunn near Munich. My daughter gives me a great gift by accompanying me on my first stage. Our first destination is 57 km away, Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm. In the morning, we received an invitation from Lukas from Couchsurfing that he would accommodate us for one night. Our ride initially takes us through the entire city of Munich. It takes us two hours just for that. Riding with the trailer proves to be a big challenge. The chain of my bicycle jumps out three times... But soon I have figured out the technique of how to deal with my friend, the bicycle. Our route takes us over many inclines on developed bike paths through fields and forests, but also along federal roads. Later than expected, around 8:00 p.m., we finally arrive in Pfaffenhofen at Lukas's place. He welcomes us very warmly and has also cooked a super delicious meal. We spend a great evening with him and sleep soundly. Thanks Lukas again for the wonderful time and your hospitality.
