Clan Jetties:

Houses on stilts in the water! Built by immigrants from China who hoped for a better future. The clan jetties are usually named after the family name and are inhabited by people who bear that name, for example, Lee Jetty, Lim Jetty, Chew Jetty, etc.

The clan jetties are still inhabited, you can walk there normally and see how people live. They even ride scooters or engage in other activities on the jetties. I saw many women preparing food, but there are also shops selling all sorts of things.

There is also a Little India in Georgetown - loud, colorful, and vibrant, just as one would imagine, and plenty of good food.

I finally felt at home when I arrived at the Esplanade (former cricket field) near Fort Cornwallis. There were 140 Berlin bears standing in front of me :) Each bear was personalized for one of the UN-recognized states:
