After visiting one of the most famous places in Panama, we continue to Boquete. Here you can hike to the nearby Baru volcano and see both the Caribbean and the Pacific. We were really looking forward to it, but the weather didn't cooperate. The rainy season is supposed to end by the end of November, but due to climate change, it keeps shifting, so it rains a lot in December. We spent two nights in Boquete and it didn't stop raining for a single minute. We used these "free days" to play Monopoly, cook elaborate meals, and read a book.
After two days of rain, we had enough and continued to Santa Catalina. The small town is known for having the best waves in Panama and attracts mainly surfers. We spent one night in a small hut, which we shared with hundreds of mosquitoes. The next morning, we headed to Panama City and were excited to see the Panama Canal. 🚢
