One month in Namibia

Byatangajwe: 19.02.2018

The first month has already passed and flew by 😊 the other volunteers have become friends for me and I am glad that they are here with me.

Today, after two weeks of vacation, work started again for me. I am curious to see what the next weeks will bring and I hope that I will slowly settle in at school as well. For the past few weeks, for some reason, I lacked the motivation to sit down in the afternoons and learn sign language. But it is important that I can do it soon, so I really need to get going now. Unfortunately, I don't know where the motivation of the first few days went, but maybe it will come back soon.

The weekend after the trip was very relaxed. Laura's friend arrived on Friday, so we went into town and had dinner. On Saturday morning, I briefly went to a sports festival at the Waldorf School with Jeannie. The festival was really nice, you could tell that many German teachers were involved 😉 Saturday evening, we had a Braai with everyone here (I had some delicious roasted vegetables as a vegetarian) and then we had a party and went out. Yesterday morning, Jeannie and I went to the city and finally signed up for the gym. It's expensive, small, and not as modern as what I'm used to in Germany, but I'm glad to have the balance. Plus, I want to stay fit so that I don't come back as a chubby person and have to start from scratch at home 💪🏼 in the evening, we all went to the rooftop terrace of the Hilton Hotel to enjoy the sunset with a drink.

Tonight, I finally watched a lesson at a salsa school and will probably sign up there as well. Unfortunately, they don't dance Cuban style here but LA style, but at least I will learn something new 😊 the classes are held twice a week.

As you can see, I am slowly settling in here and I am definitely not getting bored.

Kisses!!
