Abel Tasman National Park - Golden Beaches

Byatangajwe: 26.12.2023

We dawdled through the day - it's vacation after all ;) and thought about what we should do best in this cloudy weather.

We went to Abel Tasman National Park, to Kaiteriteri Beach. The weather held up and we were able to play with E in the waves by the sea. The sand is really yellow-gold and the overgrown bay is really beautiful. Then we took our lunch break in the camper on the beach.

Next we went a little further up the coast to Split Apple Rock. It was actually a really nice bay that took 10 minutes to get to through a jungle. It rained lightly, but that didn't really bother us. I tried to get to the rock, but apparently the tide wasn't low and the water was too deep (and it was too cold to swim). We contented ourselves with looking at the stones covered in black shells and looking for starfish.

Back at the campsite I promised E a bath in the baby bathtub, which was cool enough to be there. And today we're having early Sunday pizza because tomorrow is Christmas, delicious.
