After our stopover in L.A., today we finally go to our final vacation destination - Hawai'i…
Once again, we have to get up early this morning; the alarm clock rings at 5:30 so that we can start our flight to Kona on time at 8:30. Today everything actually goes smoothly and we take off on time towards Hula Land. After a 6-hour flight, which now seems quite short to us, we set foot on Hawaiian soil for the first time and immediately feel at home again. But Kona (Big Island) will not be our final destination because we will first go to Maui for 8 nights, an island located further north of Big Island.
This short flight within the Hawaiian Islands only takes 45 minutes and is pure enjoyment for us. We fly in a tiny propeller plane that can only accommodate 10 passengers and 2 pilots - VIP seat at the window for each passenger included... The view during the flight is breathtaking - see for yourself in our snapshots!
And today everything is supposed to continue smoothly for us: at the car rental station on Maui, the staff make sure that we get a red VW Beetle convertible as a rental car according to our request, and finally the vacation atmosphere begins for us!
While mom does some shopping in the supermarket, I get to swim in the Hawaiian pool for the first time.
Finally, we go to our accommodation - what could be a better arrival than in a convertible, with the wind blowing through our hair?!? The "stressful" journey is already history in that moment!
We enter our apartment just in time for the sunset over the sea, which we can still witness from our terrace!
Then we unpack and enjoy the first self-cooked Hawaiian dinner before we tiredly fall into our beds after this exhausting day!
