Conclusion of our trip to Bali / Gili's

Byatangajwe: 08.04.2017

With great anticipation for a beautifully beautiful country with beautiful beaches, we flew to Indonesia.

Kuta and Padangbai are both coastal cities and absolutely not worth seeing.

Ubud is a great city. Very spiritual, relatively clean and affordable. The residents are super friendly and accommodating and everyone lives in their inner center. We would go back anytime.

Gili Air is the most beautiful of the three islands. Beautiful beaches, many bars and restaurants right on the beach. The residents are all super friendly.

Gili Meno is beautiful, but very quiet. One night is enough.

Gili Trawang is unfortunately not so nice, most people only come to party. It is loud and dirty day and night. The residents seem rather annoyed by tourism. We would skip this island next time.

If we travel to Indonesia again, we will go to Lombok directly. It is supposed to be more beautiful than Bali. And it is closer to the Gilis.

In total, we spent €1400 for the two of us in 18 days in Bali and the Gili Islands. The €1400 includes €350 for flights, €420 for hotels/apartments, excursions, and eating out 2-4 times a day.

Our celiac disease was never a problem! There is plenty of fruit, vegetables, and rice. Just talk to the people 😉 we were always well fed and had no problems ✌
