Our last days of camping have begun and we are on our way back north as we have to return our car in Windhoek. On the way there, we will spend one last night in our rooftop tent and another night in a Camping2go tent at an accommodation in the middle of the Kalahari Desert. We are doing this because the campsites there are fully booked, but we feel incredibly comfortable in the accommodation and want to spend our last evening here before returning the car the next day.
Emotionally, we are very torn: after more than 5 weeks of camping, we are extremely excited about the many amenities that camping life does not offer, but we are also sad that our Namibia camping adventure is ending here. We are really enjoying these last days and evenings, going cycling (where we observe some springboks), swimming in the pool, cooking delicious cheese spaetzle, and simply doing whatever we feel like. On the last evening, we look back with extreme gratitude on the past five weeks while enjoying a mojito and caipirinha, happy to have experienced so many great things but also a little sad that it is now over.
Highlights: experiencing the last night and morning of camping with all the sounds, the red sand of the Kalahari combined with the bright yellow grass, the Camping2go tent with a bathroom, the winding down
