Sedan - Pont-à-Bar - Journey Home
In the morning, we had the best baguette and croissants for breakfast. Linda actually wanted to have breakfast in the city but hadn't planned anything. So, a visit to a bakery was inevitable. During breakfast, we decided to end the trip early after Benni and Linda proposed the idea in the evening. We weren't prepared for such bad weather and the difficult group dynamics.
Afterwards, we took a short trip to Sedan Castle, which has walls 26 meters thick and is probably the largest medieval castle in Europe.
At 3 PM, we set off one last time and made our way back to Pont-à-Bar. A little sunshine brightened our spirits, but it didn't quite improve the damp cabins and gray moods. However, the mood lifted with every meter towards Pont-à-Bar.
The last lock feels like a relief. Soon, we will be back in a warm, dry bed.
Early the next morning, we realized how good the decision to end the trip was. It was a sturdy 4 degrees Celsius while packing. For once, there was no pouring rain, but cozy is a different story. On the way back, we stopped by Philipp and Steffi with Leon.
