Now came the visit to the private school of the Busano Community Initiative. But first, we met at Caesar's, where the entire board was present. After a shared meal, we drove to the school. There, we were already awaited by students, teachers, and staff. The welcome was warm, and there was clapping and dancing. We passed by students until we reached a tent where chairs had already been set up for us. This week there were still exams, and for most of the kids, the holidays were about to start. Some of them were sitting at the school benches that we had funded in 2023. After a brief welcome from Jude, a prayer was said. What followed was a great entertainment program of dances and songs, with some students having solo parts. The music teacher drummed the rhythm. Some really gave their all during their dances. Jude then spoke to the students about motivation and personal success through education. As a storm was approaching, he shortened his program, and we handed over the balls and frisbees we had brought. Distributing the candies ended a bit in chaos, as everyone wanted to receive something. We spent the remaining time looking around and demonstrating how to play frisbee.
However, to ensure that the children could get home dry and safe, we soon drove back and started our journey home to the villa. There were wonderful moments and encounters, and it felt good to experience the warmth of this reception.
The way home was rainy, and in the evening we had no electricity for hours. However, we heard people loudly in the street, as two cars had gone into the ditch.
