On Tuesday morning (20.06.2017) I get out of the hut shortly after seven and enjoy the peaceful morning atmosphere by the water. After a short walk with Rango, Friedel offers me a coffee for breakfast. Since no tent needs to be dismantled, we are ready to leave in time. I thank him once again for his hospitality and head towards the city.
I spend the day at the swimming pool until the hiking shoes can be picked up in the afternoon. When I arrive at the shoe store, the saleswoman greets me with bad news: the boss was of the opinion that a repair is not worthwhile. So I leave the store with my unglued hiking shoes. I decide to take matters into my own hands again and glue the soles in front of the local hardware store.
Since the day is already well advanced, I only want to walk a short distance and set up my camp at the first opportunity. We leave Bad Leonfelden behind along the Moorwaldweg. At the Joachimsquelle, fresh water is refilled and we linger for a short break. I have some short conversations with locals who come to the spring to cool off. Among others, I talk to Andreas, who spontaneously invites me to camp in his garden. Since I haven't found a suitable camping spot yet, I accept his invitation gratefully.
After a good quarter of an hour, we reach his property with a very nice house on the southern edge of Bad Leonfelden. I am invited to dinner and get to enjoy good sourdough bread with bacon and roast drippings. Two beers and a very pleasant conversation with the host and his daughter round off the evening. Full and satisfied, I crawl into my sleeping bag.
