16.04. Fell into the water

Actually, today we had a highlight of our trip planned, the Tangariro Alpine Crossing, a day hike right by the volcanoes. The weather ruined our plans. It stormed with heavy rain and snow well into the afternoon. Under these conditions, nobody is allowed on the mountain. So we were forced to spend the day idling around. There's not much to do indoors in the area. We tried to go on a short hike, but had to turn back after 10 minutes due to the heavy rain. The day passes with a leisurely breakfast, reading, googling, lunch, a bit of sightseeing from the car, and later dinner.

We're only spending one day in the national park, but the weather doesn't look any better for the next 3 days. So no volcano climbing...
